Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Function
- Designer of custom, one of a kind, automation machines
- Complete design of custom automation equipment to customers specifications using AutoCAD R14/2000
- Preparing complete machine designs, usually starting from a quoted concept, including customer approval layouts, assembly drawings, parts lists and detail drawings
Experience Required
- General knowledge of machine design practices, purchased components, materials, etc.
- Experience designing custom equipment for resale of in house use
- Must be able to efficiently use AutoCAD R14/2000/2002 for design
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to think designs through completely
- MS Office 2000 and general computer literacy
Experience Recommended
- Machine controls experience with PLC’s or Computer controls
- Visual Basic
- Pneumatics/Hydraulics
- AutoLISP/VBA
Other Requirements
- Must be a self starter, work well with others and have a positive attitude
